Who are we?
About the ManyOfMe
I am a multiple. I was diagnosed in 1992 when the disorder was called Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD). Now the proper name for this disorder is Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).There have been many changes in the understanding and treatment of this disorder; and we will discuss this further in a different post.
I am a Christian. Over time, each part of me has made a personal decision to ask Jesus to be their personal Savior. We have individual faith journeys; and if you decide to follow along on this blog, you will learn more about this. I am a senior citizen. I have five amazing adult children and 10 terrific grandchildren (so far). My relationships with my children are very strong. Some of my children no longer choose to be Christians, at least not at this time. I am an aspiring author. The only thing I have written that was published was a poem about Washington Island, WI. It’s located at the tip of Wisconsin’s thumb, known as being just north of the tension line. I’ve been writing poetry since I was a child, but that isn’t the only thing I write. I did a children’s book about DID to help parents who have DID and their therapists explain it to their children. I’ve written other poems, some short stories, a previous blog, and a memoir that is in process. Naturally, you will learn more about this if you follow along. I am physically disabled. This is a fact I don’t really like to focus on; but unfortunately, it tends to require my attention far too frequently.
